The time and experience it takes to become a good surgeon is beyond what most people can imagine. As a patient, you want to be in good hands of a surgeon that knows what they are doing.
What you certainly do not want, is a surgeon only knowing what to do, if they use technology and have no clue of the traditional hands-only approach. What you also don’t want is technology interfering with the dexterity and the experience of the doctor who is operating on you.
Many existing navigation systems and robotic surgical system require the surgeon to adapt their surgical technique to be compatible with the robot and to re-learn operating with the use of a robot.
HoloNavigation is different.
The surgeon still performs the operation the same way they would without the use of HoloNavigation. The added value and the benefits in precision and speed are coming from the overlay and guidance that the system gives the surgeon.
Imagine the cruise control and lane assist in your car. Now take this to surgeries: This is HoloNavigation.
The surgeon is & remains in charge, but they are smoother, faster, safer, and more precise thanks to HoloNavigation.
We started with spine surgeries, have expanded to shoulder, foot & ankle, hand, and dental surgeries and are currently working on soft tissue tumor navigation. The limitations here come from regulatory hurdles and the fact, that we - as a SME - have to focus and cannot venture into all anatomies all at once, even if the technology would allow for that.
If you are interested in learning more about our business models that allow the integration into your surgical techniques and instrument sets, please contact us. For shoulder surgeries, we cannot take any commitments, as we have licensed it exclusively. For all other anatomies and areas of application, we can grow our collaborations with partners from orthopedics instrument manufacturers and med tech enterprises.
